The Human Resources manager is responsibility for all aspects of a human resource office of one. This includes developing recruitment strategies, implementing systems for managing employee benefits, payroll, policies, compliance, and onboarding new employees.
- Develop and implement human resource policies
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
- Process payroll
- Manage compensation and benefit plans
- Manage talent acquisition and recruitment processes
- Develop and administer employee onboarding procedures
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain employee files and records both electronically and in paper form
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
- Analyze data with useful HR metrics, i.e. to hire and employee turnover rates
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
- Oversee performance management program
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
- Excellent knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Can successfully interface with all levels of the organization and manage data/information from multiple sources
- Works well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team
- Displays professionalism and confidentiality as well as strong customer service skills
- Ability to ensure effective follow-up and follow-through with strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos as well as write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
- Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks requested by several different leaders and employees in any given time
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
- Makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our employees and our company, taking care to objectively process information.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Paylocity) will be a plus
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience and understanding as an HR Generalist
- Four-year degree from an accredited university, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
